72-Hour Guide: What to Do in Atlantic City

Atlantic City is a vibrant, buzzing destination that’s home to world-class gaming, star-studded entertainment, and its fair share of unique attractions. There are plenty of ways to have fun in this rockin’ city, so we’ve put together a 72-hour guide to help you make the most of it. Check out our itinerary below and start planning your trip.

Day One

Start your stay at Atlantic City’s most iconic attraction, the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Originally built in 1870, it’s lined with concession stands, attractions, and some of the city’s most famous landmarks, like Boardwalk Hall and a row of iconic casinos.

If the weather’s nice, kick off your shoes and relax on the sand. After all, one of Atlantic City’s biggest attractions is the Atlantic itself. Surfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, and windsurfing are all possible, with rentals and classes available.

End the day at Steel Pier, another piece of AC history. Located directly in front of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, this amusement park on stilts offers shows, games, rides, and more. Make sure to ride the giant Ferris wheel and enjoy the spectacular views.

Day Two

Start your day with a little change of scenery by visiting Absecon Lighthouse. Built in 1857, it’s the tallest lighthouse in all of New Jersey. Climb to the top and take in the gorgeous coastal vistas.

When you’re done brushing up on your local history, take advantage of the Atlantic City action. The city became famous for its dazzling casinos, and no AC visit is complete without a couple spins on a slot machine or a few hands of blackjack. If you’re by the boardwalk, hit Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, or try the Borgata if you’re by the marina.

If you’re already at Hard Rock, treat yourself to an exquisite dining experience at one of the property’s tempting eateries. We recommend Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, Kuro, Il Mulino, or Robert’s Steakhouse. After your meal, grab a drink at one of the property’s inviting bars and lounges, or dance the night away at DAER Nightclub.

Day Three

If you happened to win big during yesterday’s gambling session, treat yourself to an Atlantic City shopping spree at Tanger Outlets. You’ll find plenty of big-name stores and designer boutiques, and the outlet pricing means that you can find all kinds of deals — even if you didn’t find luck at the tables.

Cap off your stay with some world-class entertainment. Atlantic City is always hosting the biggest acts, so no matter when you visit, you’ll have plenty of options to get excited about. Browse Hard Rock’s entertainment schedule and snag your tickets, or view Atlantic City’s calendar of events to see what else is going on.

Now that you know what to do in Atlantic City, all that’s left is booking your stay. Check out our latest offers and promotions to save big on your Atlantic City adventure.
