4 Ways to Celebrate National Relaxation Day (August 15th)

Let’s face it: 2020 has been full of life challenges. And while there seems to be a “National Day” for everything in existence these days – don’t miss “Hobbit Day” on Sept. 22 – National Relaxation Day seems like a worthy one that is certainly worth celebrating.

Atlantic City is full of ways to relax, from hitting the spa to doing some calming exercise to spending a day lounging under the sun or sailing above the ocean. Here are four great ways to spend National Relaxation Day in Atlantic City

Full body treatments include deep tissue, romantic couples experiences and even athletic and therapeutic restoration needs.

On Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, the Rock Spa is even offering Welcome Back Packages for some of their most popular treatments to make your decision to hit the spa a no-brainer! Their Soul Survivor Massage, a classic light to medium pressure massage, is just $85 for 50 minutes, $125 for 80 minutes, and you will even receive complimentary immune-boosting warrior blend aromatherapy. The 50-minute Signature Body Wrap ($85) allows you to start your detox process with a rhythmic dry-brushing followed by a detoxifying wrap to nourish your skin after spending time in the sun this summer, and the experience is capped by a foot massage and hydrating application for head-to-toe pampering.  And if you have been waiting to get that manicure and pedicure, there is no better place to do it than the Rock Spa, where you can enjoy an express mani/pedi for perfect nails and feet for just $60.

Let’s face it, we’re all stressed. With piles of responsibilities, kids, work, deadlines … we don’t always have time for a lengthy breather. So, it’s even more important to learn how to RELAX. That means to calm the mind, the body, or both. Get treated like a rock star at the Rock Spa!

Atlantic City Beaches

When people talk about Atlantic City, they mention the casinos, the restaurants, the Boardwalk, but sometimes they forget about the city’s best amenity: our gorgeous beaches.

August is arguably the best month to bask under the sun on our beaches as the temperatures becoming more comfortable after a blistering July while the water temperatures usually average in the mid to high 70s.

Unlike many other Jersey Shore beaches, Atlantic City beaches are narrow with the ocean just steps off the Boardwalk. Lifeguards are plentiful along its more than 4-mile stretch, and the pristine beaches are one of the best ways to social distance while still enjoying your summer.

One of the greatest parts of enjoying Atlantic City beaches is that food and refreshments are just a few steps away at various beach bars, including The Beach Bar at Hard Rock. Plus if you are more adventurous, there are plenty of beach activities available from volleyball to fishing and, of course, surfing.

So relax, hit the beach, take in the beautiful blue waters, the gorgeous skyline and take advantage of summer while it’s still here.

The idea to offer yoga to Atlantic City, which previously had no studios until The Leadership Studio opened in 2017, proved to be a good one. Their classes are not only well attended but the talk to of the community, which comes together in this intimate studio regularly.

Utilizing the Baptiste Power Yoga Methodology, most of the yoga is done in a heated environment, but all levels of classes from beginner to advanced and everywhere in between are offered.

Perhaps the most amazing thing about The Leadership Studio is that they welcome anyone and everyone, even those who may not be able to afford regular yoga studios. That means you pay what you can, if you can.
