Elvis Costello, perhaps best known for the songs, “Alison”, “Pump It Up”, “Everyday, I Write The Book” and his rendition of the Nick Lowe song, “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding,” began writing songs at the age of thirteen. 2017 marked the 40th anniversary of the release his debut record, My Aim Is True.

Costello’s discography of more than thirty albums including the contrasting pop and rock ‘n’ roll records as well as his collaborations with the likes of Paul McCartney, Burt Bacharach, the Brodsky Quartet, and Allen Toussaint. Costello’s songs have been recorded by a great number of artists such as George Jones, Linda Ronstadt, Georgie Fame, Chet Baker, Johnny Cash, June Tabor, Roy Orbison, Dusty Springfield, Robert Wyatt, Anne Sofie von Otter, Solomon Burke and Darlene Love.

Elvis Costello and The Attractions were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Costello has also won multiple awards in his career, including a Grammy Award, and has twice been nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male Singer. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Costello number 80 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
