NJ Board Riders Club Winter Classic Presented by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

New Jersey Board Riders Club is hosting the Inaugural “Winter Classic” Team Surfing Competition on Saturday March 4th in partnership with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City. The event will include four competing Surf Clubs representing the coastal counties of New Jersey; Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic and Cape May.  The winner is determined through an exciting tag team format in which surfers combine individual scores to achieve the overall highest club tally. The seven divisions include the best New Jersey surfers of all ages including women.

Surfers of note competing include Rob Kelly, Andrew Gesler, Cruz Dinofa, Ben Gravy, Sam Hammer, Randy Townsend, Cassidy McClain and Matt Keenan. It is the first competition of two, going towards the qualification of a NJ Board Riders Club invitation to compete at the US Board Riders National Championship in California. To add to the excitement Hard Rock Atlantic City will be opening their Beach Bar that features heated viewing tents for spectators, hot tubs, plus music!

This event is open to the public, so come cheer on your hometown Surf Club. In addition, Hard Rock Atlantic City & NJ Board Riders will be providing a charitable donation to the “Heart of Surfing” 501(c)3 non-profit organization benefiting children with developmental needs and Autism.

About NJ Board Riders Club:
NJ Board Riders Club is a non profit charitable organization designed to elevate our surf community through competition and fellowship. Every coastal New Jersey county is represented with their own club reflecting the unique personalities each possess. We have established three pillars that define our organization:

COMMUNITY. CULTURE. CONSERVATION.

1. Community represents all ocean lovers and surfers who enjoy
the benefits of our coastal playground.

2. Culture is the social fabric that bonds us together and provides
structure and inspiration for our tribe.

3. Conservation includes the protection of our precious coastline
and the health of our ocean.

NJ Board Riders strategy includes many concrete ways to achieve our mission. They include: board/equipment drives for underprivileged youth, coaching, mentoring and beach clean ups.
