Charles M Govan II

Originally from Philadelphia, Charles M. Govan II became a Marine where he was inspired by the culinary scenes throughout his travels. Once his service was complete, he settled in Las Vegas and attended University of Nevada, Las Vegas, studying business. Govan then accepted a position as a supervisor in room service and quickly worked his way up to the director level.

Govan set his sights on the Las Vegas strip and was part of the opening team for the Mandarin Oriental where he was fully immersed in five-star service and Forbes standards. Ready for a new adventure, Govan accepted a position as the Room Service Manager for the MGM grand where he became responsible for more than 5,000 rooms. His dedication to his team soon led him to become the Director of Restaurants for MGM Grand where he oversaw 13 food and beverage outlets and partnered with several celebrity chefs including Joel Robuchon, Michael Mina, Tom Colicchio, and Emeril Lagasse.

Govan moved on to become the Director of Beverage at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino and the Director of Food & Beverage at the Excalibur.

Proving there is no place like home, Govan returned to the east coast and accepted a position as Director of Food & Beverage at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City.
